Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

I’m fundraising for Epilepsy Ireland to support the 45,000 people living with epilepsy in Ireland. To raise awareness and funds for Epilepsy Ireland, I am taking on a challenge to walk 45 Kilometers.

Epilepsy is characterised by a discharge of electrical energy in the brain, but the way this affects each person is unique. With your help, Epilepsy Ireland can provide support tailored to the needs of each person and family living with epilepsy.

Your support will ensure that people with epilepsy and their families receive the information, advice, and support they need through a network of 11 Community Resource Officers. You will ensure public awareness of epilepsy is improved and stigma and misunderstanding is alleviated. You will help fund vital research projects to find new ways to manage and treat epilepsy and reduce its impact on people’s lives.

I hope you can help me by making a donation. Simply click the Donate button above. All donations are processed securely and are received directly by Epilepsy Ireland.

Myas story

Saturday 6th Sep

In July,  our world changed when our daughter Mya had a seizure for the first time. Seeing her completely unresponsive and her colour blue for such a prolonged time was absolutely terrifying. The ambulance came so quickly and did an amazing job.  She spent a week in Uhl doing various tests such as bloods, an eeg, then an MRI. The team in the sunshine ward were absolutely amazing with her.  She was discharged and we thought maybe just a once off despite the consultant telling us that this is likely epilepsy.

Two weeks later unexpectedly she had another seizure.   Test results came back from temple street and found she has Occipital lobe epilepsy. Her brain waves are more irregular during sleep.

Watching her begin this journey has been challenging,   but it has also inspired me to do something to make a difference for people living with Epilepsy.

To raise awareness and funds for Epilepsy Ireland, I am taking on a challenge to walk 45kilometers between 22nd September to 28th to support the 45,000 people living with epilepsy in Ireland.

Epilepsy Ireland provides vital services, education, and support to people living with epilepsy and their families. By donating, you’ll be helping them continue their incredible work and showing support for all those affected by epilepsy — including my daughter.

Every step I take is for her, and for the thousands of others living with this condition.

Thank you so much for any support you can give 💜
