This March, we’re walking together to raise funds for Epilepsy Ireland, a cause that has become very personal to our family.

Almost a year ago, our daughter was diagnosed with focal epilepsy, which for her presents as absence seizures. It opened up a world we knew very little about. Like many people, we had not realised how varied epilepsy can be, or how differently it affects each person.

When we first reached out to Epilepsy Ireland, they were very supportive. They provided clear information, reassurance and guidance at a time when we really needed it. That support makes a real difference.

There is still a lot of misunderstanding around epilepsy, especially around the different types and what seizures can look like. Through this fundraiser, we hope to raise both awareness and funds to support families navigating a diagnosis, to challenge stigma and to help make sure people living with epilepsy feel understood and supported.

If you are in a position to donate, we would be very grateful. Every contribution goes directly to Epilepsy Ireland and helps them continue their vital work supporting individuals and families across Ireland.
