Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
I’m fundraising for Epilepsy Ireland to support the 45,000 people living with epilepsy in Ireland.
Epilepsy is caused by a discharge of electrical energy in the brain, but the way this affects each person is unique. With your help, Epilepsy Ireland can provide support tailored to the needs of each person and family living with epilepsy.
Your support will ensure that people with epilepsy and their families receive the information, advice, and support they need through a network of 11 Community Resource Officers. You will ensure public awareness of epilepsy is improved and stigma and misunderstanding is alleviated. You will help fund vital research projects to find new ways to manage and treat epilepsy and reduce its impact on people’s lives.
I hope you can help me by making a donation. Simply click the Donate button above. All donations are processed securely and are received directly by Epilepsy Ireland.

My Story
Thursday 27th MarI first developed epilepsy in 2021 after an unexpected seizure at home. Since then, I have faced a number of different challenges, from managing seizures that can occur unexpectedly, to taking a number of different medications with various side effects.
Despite my epilepsy being well-controlled in recent years, I still experience seizures and I have to take extra precautions in my daily life. This includes avoiding certain activities like driving and having to make adjustments at work and in my social life. The uncertainty of when a seizure might happen is stressful as I have often had seizures when I have either been alone or not with my family or friends.
I feel that epilepsy is still not as widely understood as other conditions.
I think it’s important to help others understand the condition better which is why I encourage people to talk about it more frequently. Knowing what to do when someone has a seizure is paramount and so awareness is key. There is no easy type of epilepsy. It comes in may forms and is not just seizures. Sometimes it is the medication side effects, the triggers, the lack of control and the lapse of memory afterwards.
"There is one thing I do not let epilepsy do, however, and that is define me. I am determined to raise awareness and support and help others like me"
One of the ways I decided to do this was by signing up to the Epilepsy Ireland 24-hour squat challenge. Epilepsy Ireland do an amazing job in advocating for people with epilepsy and helping to achieve a society where no person’s life is limited by epilepsy.
