Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!

This September, I'm walking and raising funds to support people living with epilepsy, and their families.

Epilepsy is characterised by seizures caused by bursts of electrical energy in the brain. But the way this affects each person is unique. With your help, Epilepsy Ireland can provide support tailored to the needs of each person and family living with epilepsy.

Your support will ensure that people with epilepsy and their families receive the information, advice, and support they need through a network of Community Resource Officers. You will ensure public awareness of epilepsy is improved and stigma and misunderstanding is alleviated. You will help fund vital research projects to find new ways to manage and treat epilepsy and reduce its impact on people’s lives.

I hope you can help me by making a donation. Simply click the Donate button. All donations are processed securely and are received directly by Epilepsy Ireland.

Why I’m Taking on 100 Miles 🩵

Tuesday 11th Aug

From September last year, someone very close to me has been going through what eventually became an epilepsy diagnosis.

It’s been months of uncertainty, appointments, tests and waiting for answers before finally receiving a diagnosis and even still there’s a long road ahead. Along the way, I’ve watched someone I love receive news that has been difficult to process and at times, completely deflating.

A diagnosis like this doesn’t just give you an answer. It can mean having to adjust to a new reality too. Things that were once completely normal suddenly come with more thought, more caution and sometimes changes you never expected to have to make.

I’ve watched her take each new piece of information as it comes, adjust to changes in her life and try to find her feet with something she never expected to be dealing with.

And when it’s someone you love, there’s only so much you can do. You can’t take the diagnosis away or make everything go back to how it was before, but you can be there beside them. 🩵

So I wanted to take some of that feeling and put it towards something positive.

This September, I’m walking 100 miles to raise money for Epilepsy Ireland and the work they do supporting people living with epilepsy and those closest to them.

I’m hoping to raise money towards epilepsy funding and any donation, no matter how big or small, would genuinely mean so much to me.

There’s a very special reason behind these 100 miles, so now I suppose I’d better get walking! 🥹👟🩵
