Casey's Story
Welcome to my fundraiser page. My daughter Casey was diagnosed with epilepsy in August 2025 when she was only 8 years old. She was diagnosed with generalised epilepsy with the biggest issues being absence seizures and myoclonic jerks. When she was diagnosed, we were in complete shock. Then followed the start of her medication journey which in itself has been the biggest battle, we’ve had so many ups and downs, good and bad days. Casey was doing reasonably well until she had her first tonic clonic (convulsive) seizure in August of this year. We spent that day in A&E. It was a very frightening experience and just further confirmed how unpredictable epilepsy can be. It’s been a tough year but Casey is a little superstar and takes everything in her stride.
Before Casey was diagnosed with epilepsy we had very little knowledge on the condition. Epilepsy Ireland have been an incredible support to our family. I don’t know what we would have done without them. My way of giving back to them is to try and raise some funds for Epilepsy Ireland while also trying to raise some awareness about the condition.
I have signed up to their September walking challenge and will walk 100 miles during the month.
Any donation, even the smallest amount would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance 🙏 ❤️

🎯 New Target: €500!
Thursday 10th Sep Thanks to everyone’s generosity I’ve beaten my second target of €350. 🥹 I’ve completed 31 / 100 miles with 20 days to go. A few extra long walks are on the cards. 💪
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and supported me so far!
Tuesday 1st Sep When I set myself the challenge of walking 100 miles in September for Epilepsy Ireland, I set a fundraising target of €250. I honestly didn't expect to get so close to the target so quickly. With a whole month of walking still ahead of me, I've decided to increase my target to €350 and see if I can raise even more for such an important cause. Thank you so so so much to everyone who has donated and supported me so far. Every single euro means so much. 💜
Beautiful day for a walk and all for a good cause ❤️
Friday 28th Aug
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Friday 21st AugThis September, I'm walking and raising funds to support people living with epilepsy, and their families.
Epilepsy is characterised by seizures caused by bursts of electrical energy in the brain. But the way this affects each person is unique. With your help, Epilepsy Ireland can provide support tailored to the needs of each person and family living with epilepsy.
Your support will ensure that people with epilepsy and their families receive the information, advice, and support they need through a network of Community Resource Officers. You will ensure public awareness of epilepsy is improved and stigma and misunderstanding is alleviated. You will help fund vital research projects to find new ways to manage and treat epilepsy and reduce its impact on people’s lives.
I hope you can help me by making a donation. Simply click the Donate button. All donations are processed securely and are received directly by Epilepsy Ireland.
