This September, I'm walking and raising funds to support people living with epilepsy, and their families.
Epilepsy is characterised by seizures caused by bursts of electrical energy in the brain. But the way this affects each person is unique. With your help, Epilepsy Ireland can provide support tailored to the needs of each person and family living with epilepsy.
Your support will ensure that people with epilepsy and their families receive the information, advice, and support they need through a network of Community Resource Officers. You will ensure public awareness of epilepsy is improved and stigma and misunderstanding is alleviated. You will help fund vital research projects to find new ways to manage and treat epilepsy and reduce its impact on people’s lives.

Neil's Story
Saturday 22nd Aug Hi everyone! So as many of you know my husband Neil has epilepsy. He had been seizure free with the help of medication for 10 years. Then last December our son became quite unwell and the stress and exhaustion of running up and down to the hospital while keeping a full time job and raising a small family in the run-up to Christmas was all too much and Neil had another seizure. Since then he has been off the road and still waiting to see a neurologist. The HSE is an absolute shambles and even going privately, he has had an 8 month wait to see someone. It shouldn't be this way. As you can imagine, this has had a massive impact on our small family and especially for Neil who adores to drive. Thankfully, Neil's epilepsy is mild and back under control. Not everyone is lucky enough to say that and suffer with multiple seizures daily which has an impact on their mental and physical health as well as their independence, relationships etc. Please help me raise vital funds for Epilepsy Ireland by supporting this small venture.
