Thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
This March, I'm walking and raising funds to support people living with epilepsy, and their families.
Epilepsy is characterised by a discharge of electrical energy in the brain, but the way this affects each person is unique. With your help, Epilepsy Ireland can provide support tailored to the needs of each person and family living with epilepsy.
Your support will ensure that people with epilepsy and their families receive the information, advice, and support they need through a network of 11 Community Resource Officers. You will ensure public awareness of epilepsy is improved and stigma and misunderstanding is alleviated. You will help fund vital research projects to find new ways to manage and treat epilepsy and reduce its impact on people’s lives.
I hope you can help me by making a donation. Simply click the Donate button. All donations are processed securely and are received directly by Epilepsy Ireland.

My Updates
30 years a-growin
Friday 27th FebThirty years ago, I had a seizure. I was 19 and it was a bolt out of the blue. To my shame - over those past three decades - I have never fundraised for others living with epilepsy, particularly those who are living with it and who are very likely in a far more difficult situation than me. I’ve had plenty of seizures over the years - mostly my own fault - and when the medication stopped working about five years back, I was fortunate enough to be a candidate for brain surgery in Beaumont. And although I’m still taking lots of medication, the surgery worked and the seizures have stopped. For now! So, this fundraiser is not for me; it’s for those living with epilepsy for whom the medication is not working, and surgery is not an option. Maybe they can’t drive and struggle to get around, or are isolated. Maybe they are worried about having a seizure in public. Maybe they’d like to go for a swim; mind their own children; or even just climb a ladder – things most of us take for granted – but can’t without another person present in case they have a seizure. And maybe they struggle with anxiety or depression, which many do. So, I’m only walking a few miles. Don’t donate for me; donate for them! Thank you.
